 you can get into the set options menu in the JAWS configuration manager.

When you hit the down arrow in set options, your first control is user options.
Press enter and hit the tab key 3 times to get to screen echo. The highlight
option is the second of 3 check boxes.
 OK;

  Hi,

  But where's the screen echo option? It's not under the main Set Options list
and I can't find it in any of the menu options that are listed under there. I
figured it would most likely be under the Verbosity option. I had my verbosity
setting to Advanced. So I went in and looked and what Advanced settings I
could ajust but I don't see anything related to the screen echo. Oh, I'm also
using Jaws 6.2.

    Go to JAWS menu. Under Utilities go down to configuration.
    Open Set Options
    Go to screen echo and hit highlighted.

      Hi,

      Could someone tell me where in the configuration window you go to change
the screen echo to read highlighted text? I was trying out different Jaws
settings for a particular application and somewhere along the line I changed
this setting and now I can't find it anywhere. It won't read when I arrow down
through lists or menu options within the application anymore. I'm having to
ajust it with Insert+V but that's only temporary. It's very annoying. I
looked just about everywhere I can think of inside the configuration window but
I can't find anything that says screen echo. Thanks!

      Michael
