Yardbird,

If you re-examine my message, you'll notice I specified "tracking-cookies," 
which are not quite the same as, for example, a cookie that hotmail puts in 
your computer so you don't need to re-enter your user name and password.

Tracking-cookies are more intrusive. They allow advertisers to see a record 
of other sites you have visited. Now perhaps that doesn't bother you, but 
many people find this bothersome.
