Hi Peter,
Welcome to the list. According to what the man said, this didn't seem to be
his problem. We've frequently gone through explaining to each other how to
set Outlook Express to receive email in plain text or HTML form using the
Tools/Options menu and the read tab, just as you have. But I don't think,
at least from what I've heard, that this was the person's problem. Then
again, I don't remember him posting to say that he resolved the problem,
after all that.

OK I've just double checked how I fixed this.
1. In Outlook/Outlook Express, go to 'TOOLS' menu and click on 'OPTIONS'.
Then go to the 'READ' tab
Then tab down and there is an option 'Read all messages in Plain Text'.
I found this was ticked, so untick it and it worked for me.
