the best way to safeguard/fortify files is a thumb drive... if it ain't plugged 
in, they can't be gotten to, and only you know when you plug the little niggler 
in so... 

next would be a 2.5 inch exterior drive, same facts more room for the main 
part. and sd cards can work in the same fashion and are extremely easy to 
carry.
