2., No, not at all, it can be anything as long as it does the job.
3. I use a an HP scanner. When I launch the scanning utility and click
on the scan button, a dialog appears showing the progress. then whenthe
scanning is finished an edit box appears on the screen in which I am
supposed to enter the increments.
Usually my sighted workmates prepare all the documents for me
beforehand. U usually scan all the documents of a specific year
sequentially until i finish them then I move to the next or previous year.
4. Normally the files are organized by year with some exceptions.
5. So far, I have done the year 2016, followed by 2015 and I am supposed
to go backward year by year back to the year 2000 or maybe a bit earlier.

make mistakes.
Now, I want to write a script that adds an increment each time it is
executed whenever I want to rename the file. I want the increment to be
added only to the number before the dash and not the number after the
dash. Is that possible? if yes, please help me write it.
