Just press alt+v and up harrow. If you hear compact view, this means you are
in default mode and vice versa. On my personal view, compact mode is better
because otherwise the chat messages are included in Skypes main window and
it can be difficult to read them, imo. The question is user preference
however, as far as I heard.
