I had the same problem. I'd forgotten about that when I posted the link. Sorry about that! I ended up going to CNET download.com to download the free standard version. The URL is http://www.download.com/MediaMonkey-Standard/3000-2141_4-10109807.html. I spent quite a bit of time in Windows Media Player 11 before I decided to look for something better. The biggest problem I had with it was that I couldn't use it to sync music to my Sansa e260 running Rockbox. WMP 11 puts all of the music it syncs into the Music directory onto your portable player. On the Sansa, this directory is hidden from Rockbox. I looked for ways to keep this directory from being hidden, but no luck with either Rockbox or Sansa. I also looked through the WMP documentation and searched the web, but I didn't find any way to change this setting in WMP. Less important was the fact that I couldn't manage podcasts through WMP. I'm using iPodder now, which is a great application, but managing this through my jukebox application is on my wish list. BTW, I spent some more time in Media Monkey recently, and it's almost usable right out of the box. I think I accidentally changed the skin which caused JFW to stop tracking the highlighted text. Once I fixed that, most things are read as you'd expect as you tab and arrow around. It's still hard to know when items are checked or not since you have to check the icon sitting out in front of the item. Also, it would be nice to be able to expand some columns because sometimes the text is a bit truncated, but I think you can do this through the keyboard. I'm getting some extraneous text read as I arrow around while the player is active, but this appears to be the running time of the track that's being played, which happens to be on the same line that the cursor is on. There's also some text on the screen, like information about the running track, that I get to with the JFW cursor. I'm actually finding it usable enough right now that for the time being I've made it my default music player and music library manager. I still need to check out all of the features, like ripping a CD, and I'm still tempted to bring up Winamp from time to time. earl.landheer@xxxxxxxxx wrote: > go to filehippo.com do a search for media monkey, you will find a beta > version. personally I use windows media player 11. earl > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Donald Marang" <donald.marang@xxxxxxxxx> > To: <jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Friday, January 09, 2009 3:20 PM > Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: Media Monkey > > > >> I would like to examine this application.
