Hi Cliff,

You're spot on about most of this stuff. I have managed to pin a short cut
for the full version of IE10 to the Start Screen but now prefer just using
the short cut that I created on the Desktop.

I'll have a look for the short cut list you mention.

Thanks again,

Jamie

Hi Jamie I used 8 for a while but hated it and went back to windows 7. Since

then they have modified it a bit by giving it a small pathetic start menu I
believe. However when I used it I added icons to the desktop and the start
screen only came up when I pressed the windows key and on the desktop there
was a task bar that you could pin programs to if you wanted. I think you
will find that the full version of ie is installed and if you add the icon
to the desktop or pin it to the task bar then that is how you start it. The
start screen only launches the app. not the full version. If I remember
right when on the desktop you press the windows key and x to run programs
that you dont have icons for but as I say I hated it and didnt keep it for
long. There was a thing on the internet called '99 shortcuts for windows 8'
or something like that.
Sorry I cant be much more help.
regards cliff
