XP's Help & Support is a very good place to find this kind
of information.

George. (See below)

To turn on FilterKeys
FilterKeys is a keyboard feature that instructs the keyboard
to ignore brief or repeated keystrokes. Using FilterKeys,
you can also slow the rate at which a key repeats when you
hold it down.

Open Accessibility Options.=20
On the Keyboard tab, under FilterKeys, select the Use
FilterKeys check box.=20
To turn off FilterKeys, clear the Use FilterKeys check box.

 Notes

To open Accessibility Options, click Start, click Control
Panel, and then double-click Accessibility Options.=20
If the Use shortcut check box in the Settings for FilterKeys
dialog box is selected, you can turn FilterKeys on or off by
holding down the right SHIFT key for 8 to 16 seconds
(depending on the other settings you have selected in the
Accessibility Options dialog box). To open the Settings for
FilterKeys dialog box, open Accessibility Options and then,
under FilterKeys, click Settings. =20

Subject: [jaws-uk] Filter keys=20

thank you George, I did not hit sticky keys this time but
filter keys are=20
they similar. I imagine they serve a purpose like Sticky
keys, mind you if=20
I could only type with one finger I think, I would have a go
at Voice=20
recognition, something like Dragon Naturally 9. the reason I
got confused=20
was that a lady who once gave me a lesson would in a
search Engine use=20
what she called "filter keys. this I think was " signs and
something like=20
plus sign, or was it something similar this she did if she
was looking for=20
something very difficult. maybe calling that a 'filter key
was not correct'=20
it in no way related to what I have just shaken off. Thanks
for your help

Dorothy. Ps not sure how I got rid of it.=20
