It's my understanding that outlook Express does (at least in theory)
support IMAP. There's a section of Outlook Express Help Topics devoted
to it. It does/would do this much in the way that it supports
newsgroups.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Email applications.

Afternoon,

Does anyone have any recommendations on email applications that are
Jaws friendly and which are capable of handling an IMAP email account?

I know that Outlook meets both these criteria, but my work email is
using Outlook and for various reasons which I won't go into, I need to
keep
work and personal email in separate applications.

Outlook Express appears not to support IMAP accounts, so I'm left
wondering about Eudora or any other program people have used
successfully.

Thanks,
Tink.
