Dear Barry,

Many thanks for coming back so quickly.

I hadn't thought of Auto Correct, although I knew of it, and had in fact
used it in the past.

But what I was actually thinking of was a Word dictionary that you created
with words that the normal dictionary recognised as right and proper. I
certainly had this in WordStar, oh, those were the days, smile. And I
thought there was something similar within Word, but I can't find anything.

Oh well, Auto Correct, I guess, will have to do.
With best wishes,

Keith

In Microsoft Word, in the tools menu there is an option called Auto correct
options. It's pretty self explanitory once you enter on it. You set this
up and it just replaces mispelled words. My bad one is writing *teh*
instead of *the* - Word just changes it for me.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Dictionary in Word

Dear all,

I am using Jaws 6 with Windows 98.

Firstly apologies that this query isn't Jaws-specific, but I wondered if
anyone had the answer to my question.

I wish to create what is called, I believe, an exceptions, or exclusions,
dictionary in Word. A dictionary that would alert me when it came across
words that it would normally think correctly spelt.

An example word is manger, where I meant to type manager. I would wish to be
alerted if the dictionary found manger during a spellcheck.

I was pretty certain there was a way to do this, but can't remember what I
had to do. Can anyone help please?

With many thanks.

Keith
