However Kevin, it is amazing how many people have already signed it, and people I always thought to be sensible and intelligent.

I think that alarm bells should, indeed be sounding particularly as the government (with cross-party support) has (only relatively recently) agreed to increase DLA for blind individuals. Any proposals to cut the benefit would run directly counter to this decision and would therefore make me suspicious of their authenticity. I hope the moderators don't mind but I thought it of such importance to take the liberty. Many of you by now will have received an Email warning of potential cuts to DLA and an upcoming Green Paper making certain proposals regarding benefits. On first receiving this Email I was suspicious as I tend to be of all such Emails. On going to the site, I noticed they were asking for your name and Email address. Again the warning bells sounded, is this just a way to get asmany Email addresses as possible? There was a link to download the GreenPaper and read and again I was worried this might just be a virus they wantyou to download to your computer. Not being sure, I forwarded an Email to someone I know who works as a manager in the social care sector and is always well informed on suchissues. I was sure if this was a real threat she would be aware of it. She's just replied informing me that she knows nothing about these proposals andis like myself, concerned by the Website in question. She has told me sheknows of an Email in circulation informing people they may be elligible fora tax rebate. The Email porports to be from HMRC and the Website the linkbrings you too indeed looks just like that of the HMRC. However, it containsa very harmful virus. Whether you think I am just being over-cautious or you like me aresuspicious, I just thought it important to sound a word of caution before we all get carried away at the idea of what would be a very serious decision.Find me on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/barkingbabs Barbara Wilson M: 07917710779 T: 02887784046 E: barkingbabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx IM: creativeeyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Skype: creativeeyes** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq__________ Information from ESET Smart Security, version of virus signature database 4311 (20090806) __________The message was checked by ESET Smart Security. http://www.eset.com
