Hi David,

Defender is not an anti-virus program. It is for defending
against Spyware. So keep AVG whatever else you do.

George.

Thanks to all those who have responded to this question
about attachments. The problem is that attachments are
announced but there aren't any actually there. Pressing
insert A says "No attachments".

I seem to remember that it was resolved in AVG which I've
got currently but as a result of something Amro wrote
another question arises...is Windows Defender enough
security on its own? I am running this as well as AVG but
I'm beginning to think the latter is unnecessary.

Any comments please.

David

        David,

Is AVG your virus scanner? If memory serves, it's a
setting in AVG email scanner to notify you that emails are
clean as it were. Tern that notification off and that should
sort it. Sorry for not being more specific but I stopped
using AVG a while ago.

        HTH,
        Amro

                Hi list,

This was discussed quite a long time ago on
the list I think but have no reference to it now.

Have just gone back to Outlook Express but
find that it tells me that there are attachments when there
aren't. I believe there is a way of resolving this but
could someone remind me.

                Thanks.

                David
