Hi Chris,

You have a point there. However, I have found that since the bulk of my dns
use is e-mail, getting dns to learn the words I use and the writing style in
e-mail is very handy.

I'm by no means the J-say team. But I suspect the reason is you have no
control over what is analyzed when you check those two checkboxes. We all
know especially in e-mail conversations you are likely to have a lot of
misspellings. You can always use the voctool to analyze your writing style
later. The advantage of using this utility allows you to select which
documents are folders you would like to use for your writing style. It is
well noted on the no-brainer forum and in other places to not have Dragon
NaturallySpeaking do this step right after you have trained the software to
recognize your voice. To be honest with you I no Dragon NaturallySpeaking
version 9.0 spells better than I can. So it is my opinion at least for me
to have these two checkboxes unchecked.

I hope this helps.

Chris.

Pranav,

That's what I figured. I was just curious about why J-Say instructs us to
uncheck that box.

Hi sue,

The e-mail and documents checkboxes at the end of the training simply allow
dragon to pick up text from the documents and e-mails that you write. This
helps better train its language model. I routinely get dragon to process the
sent items folder with the e-mail checkbox so that it understands my writing
style while writing e-mail.
