If you spin down the hard drive that should enable you to hear the fan, you
need to be in a low ambient noise environment!

To spin down the drive, put the following lines into a 'BASIC' file and
double click on it:-)

SYS "ADFS_PowerControl",2,4,0
REM ,1,0,<time>*12 (0=immediate)
REM time in minuets
REM SYS "ADFS_PowerControl",2,drive%,0
REM HD= 4 or 5

You only need the top line really!
