I suspect they are specific to a mouse. The adapter I had from Castle has a keyboard ps2 port and a mouse ps2 port, and combined both into a USB connector. On the RPC with Unipod, the adapter on its own shows up as a mouse and a keyboard. I gave up on it because with the ps2 KVM running through it, I got random stray characters in the keyboard buffer when I moved the mouse, even if there was no cable in the keyboard port of ther adapter. I think the adapter has to emulate a mouse or a keyboard, so using a mouse adapter with a keyboard would seem unlikely to work. I could be wrong though. Perhaps somebody who uunderstands the internals of USB could enlighten us? I changed to a USB KVM, a Rextron from CJE, which works very nicely. >> In an earlier thread about KVM issues, I seem to recall that there is >> some difference between the various USB ports - something about when >> they get initialised during startup.
