The product is running on the ISA server. I was wondering about the packet filters. My question is since I can connect to Microsoft's telnet server that is on the ISA server already, would not the ports be already defined in the packet filters?? If is running on the ISA you should check the packet filters to allow connections to the port of your product. But if the product is running on an internal server, you should make a server publishing rule Gabriel Zabal gabriel@xxxxxxxxxxx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Muqeem Syed" <Syed.Muqeem@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "[ISAserver.org Discussion List]" <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 8:42 AM Subject: [isalist] RE: telnet question http://www.ISAserver.org I guess this should be by design.... the cisco firewall I have doesnt allow you to telnet it on the external interface.. and thats by desing to prevent all unathorised access.. completely. -----Original Message----- From: Musser, Dale [mailto:musser@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 2:39 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] telnet question http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Has anyone played with telnet on an ISA server?? I have a product that you can telnet in to make changes to the product. Everything works fine when it is local on the network, but if you try from the outside thru the ISA server, I can not connect. Here is the strange thing, If I turn on the built in Microsoft Telnet server, I can connect from the outside. That makes me think that ISA is already configured for telnet. Anyone run into this or have any ideas???
