Can you define hosed: Routing Issues? Security Compromised? Since I am writing ISAPI filters I sort of have to use the box as a workstation, I have Dev Enviorment (Visual Studio) installed and am working through issues. -Wayne _____ From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 2005 10:50 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: What Side Is My Browser On? http://www.ISAserver.org Also, if I'm reading your Access Rule correctly, your box may be hosed by now and you might want to consider reformat and reinstall. That's why I always recommend not using the firewall as a workstation :) Tom <http://www.isaserver.org/shinder> www.isaserver.org/shinder Tom and Deb Shinder's Configuring ISA Server 2004 <http://tinyurl.com/3xqb7> http://tinyurl.com/3xqb7 MVP -- ISA Firewalls _____ From: Wayne Berry [mailto:wayne@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, February 09, 2005 12:44 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] What Side Is My Browser On? http://www.ISAserver.org ISAList: Ok, I know this is a really dumb question; however I am little confused again. When I open a browser on my ISA Server (2 NICs - Edge Firewall) what side of the network is the browser on? Internal or External? I do not have a proxy configured in my browser settings. I assume the answer would matter how I set-up my networks, so is the local browser considered 127.0.0.1? I am getting this really weird scenario where if I go to www.microsoft.com <http://www.microsoft.com/> I can see the web site (from the browser on the ISA Server), however if I go to www.wired.com <http://www.wired.com/> I get this: Error Code: 403 Forbidden. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202) I have one access rule, i.e. All Access, Allow, All Users, Anytime, All Networks (Local Host), External, All Protocols, just sort of wide open. -Wayne The ISAPI Dev Lurking on the ISA Admin List ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Other Internet Software Marketing Sites: World of Windows Networking: http://www.windowsnetworking.com Leading Network Software Directory: http://www.serverfiles.com No.1 Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Network Security Library: http://www.secinf.net/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: wayne@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe visit http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist Report abuse to listadmin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
