I think I just confused myself. If you don't mind lets start with setting up the domains. I have 2 domains so far: www.nusolutions.biz www.nubiint.com Exchange is configured to receive email for nuSolutions.biz. nubiint.com is the postnuke website that will need to reply to user requests. ISA is acting as the SMTP Relay and it has mail.nusolutions.biz created as the domain using the IP of the internal exchange server as the smarthost. I install SMTP on the web server and create a new remote domain named mail.nubiint.com and configure it to use the IP of the ISA server as the smarthost. Do I need to create a remote mail.nubiint.com domain on the ISA/SMTP Relay server? Should I be using the IP of the exchange server as the smarthost also? Sorry but it's 4am and I've maxed out so I have to revert back to the basics because I'm missing something. I have my SMTP relay as incoming only and then forward out through another connection. if *.domain3.com tries to send mail to you then that will sit in the queue and not get transfered back to your exchange machine. I can no longer add domain accounts and SIDs are showing for the ones that were originally added. I'm trying to figure out what caused this but I'm not having any luck. So what's happening is that after adding the domain account in SMTPcred.exe and trying to connect to the ISA server via the ISA console on the web server I get an error advising that I don't have the necessary permissions to perform this act. Connection failed. I'm thinking it's a matter of the web server not having access to the ISA server or something along those lines. Event logs show nothing in regards to authentication so I'm drawing a blank. At this point I'm also not sure if this would still prevent the SMTP server on the web server from sending mail on behalf of the website, so I need a way to check this.
