Hi Julian
3 things...
1) Is it port 79 or port 76 you want to "open"
2) Prepare yourself for an intense barrage of witticisms from the ISA
community at large regarding the words "open a port", there is a strong
feeling towards the usage of these words as it is in fact a misnomer
within the ISA world.
But anyway, to open your Port 76 (79 already exists as the Finger
Protocol), first create a Protocol Definition under the Policy Elements.
(Fairly simple, just right-click, select New and then follow the
prompts...)
Once done, you then have to create a Protocol Rule (under Access
Policy). Again, right-click, New and follow the prompts. In the "Apply
This Rule To" dialog box, select your newly created protocol definition
and Bob's your granny (well, maybe not...)
3) Visit http://isaserver.org, and maybe also get your hands on Uncle
Tom's bible, Configuring ISA Server 2000

Please can some one tell me how to open Port 79 in ISA so
that we can collect some emails from another server.
Will our exchange 2000 server in SBS pick these emails up
automatically once they come in ?
Thanks :)
Julian
