Try VNC and when you install it, choose the options to run as a service and
to hide the system tray icon. The system tray icon changes colors when
someone is viewing your computer and you wouldn't want the employee to see
that. And its free.

I have a customer with a business need to watch the activity on a users
computer screen. They suspect a person of sleeping and want to check up on
the computer and see if the guy is actually working or not. I'm not up on
spyware. Is there something out there cheap, free, easy to configure and
hidden from the user that we could use for this purpose? All he wants to do
is view what is happening on the screen from time to time. Then they fire
the guy and I uninstall it.
