http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- Nothing really in Event Viewer. The only thing is a warning: The description for Event ID ( 5050 ) in Source ( IAS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: I am not 100% sure that is from the VPN attempt. I had to run to the office to try to connect. I cleared Event Viewer before I left, though and thats all that was in there when I got back. I forgot to start the logging on ISA before I left so I dont have that. The error on the client side is just a time out since the computer didnt respond. Its using PPTP. --Mike -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jim Harrison Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2007 7:58 PM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: ISA VPN Problem From Single Location http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- Can you provide a detail or two about the failure state? What is the error seen at the client side? What is in the ISA logs for that connection attempt? What is the VPN protocol in use to ISA? -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Mike Carlson Sent: Wednesday, November 14, 2007 5:38 PM To: 'isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [isalist] ISA VPN Problem From Single Location http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- I am trying to isolate a problem with establishing a VPN from one of my clients location to my home network that is using ISA 2006. Client site is a Linksys wrt54g v5 wireless router going into the DSL modem that is in bridged mode. From the clients site I can: Establish a PPTP VPN (pptp) to a different location that uses a Contivity for a VPN end point. Establish a VPN to another location (l2tp), not sure about the end point. SoI assume that the router is passing everything correctly. I can establish a VPN connection to my house from everywhere I have tried except from this one clients site. It connects and then hangs verifying user info. Where do I go to look to see what the problem is? My DSL modem at home gets a 192.168.7.x address from my ISP. My home network is 192.168.11.x this client's site is 192.168.1.x. So it shouldnt be a subnet issue. Any ideas?
