http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- I guess it's really not that much different from the dorks that actually deploy "firewalls" between the ISA & CSS even while adding ISA to the domain and then argue about having to "openaport" between ISA & CSS. The want remote monitoring of the array, but they don't want to allow RPC between the monitoring station (CSS) and the array. ..of course, you *will* see these same dweebs break domain participation for the array members cuz they bork their "real firewall" settings and the ISA can't talk to the DCs (BTDTGTTSWIOTIA). When this happens, it'll be a Critsi CSS call screaming about how unstable ISA Server is. BTW I had no idea that watchguard was still considered a viable product but its all over the mid market. Pretty red 1U's. They all seem to know that isa is a proxy server and a firewall. But they already have a firewall so if they can't uninstall isa then they just want to use it in proxy mode. thanks, Amy Babinchak Harbor Computer Services from my Mobile 6 phone -----Original Message----- From: Jim Harrison <Jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, July 26, 2008 1:03 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [isalist] Re: ISA Server 2006: Caching http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- EBS comes with TMG configured as a firewall; how does bork mode come into it? -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Amy Babinchak Sent: Friday, July 25, 2008 8:17 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: ISA Server 2006: Caching http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- With EBS hitting the market soon, I've been getting more and more of this request for information about setting up ISA in proxy-only mode. I think it's time for a blog blitz and that includes the official blog. There is no proxy only mode! thanks, Amy Babinchak Harbor Computer Services |(248) 850-8616 Tech Blog http://securesmb.harborcomputerservices.net Client Blog http://smalltechnotes.blogspot.com Website http://www.harborcomputerservices.net Buy My House http://tinyurl.com/5gb5n8 -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Thomas W Shinder Sent: Friday, July 25, 2008 8:55 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Re: ISA Server 2006: Caching http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- There is NO "proxy" mode for the firewall. There is hork mode, where the firewall is caponized by a single NIC configuration. What do the packet traces show for these connections?
