Hi, Just started here, thanks to Greg's Help. I am trying to setup the
Message Filter. But I am sad to say I am about to Burn the Book. I am
using "ISA Server 2000" book from isaserver.org .

I tried to setup a SMTP server (relay) on a win2000srv. (IIS5.0) then point
to my exchange 5.5(on NT4.0. How can you do this?

What do you have in the SMTP logs?

Jim,
My IIS SMTP is behind my ISA server and I already have a Protocol rule setup
for DNS

DNS
DNS Query
DNS Query Server
DNS Zone Transfer
DNS Zone Transfer Server

You may need to allow DNS zone transfer traffic.
If the IIS SMTP is on the ISA, then create a packet filter allowing TCP,
outbound, remote 53, local any. If the IIS SMTP is behind the ISA, the
create a protocol rule allowing DNS zone transfer (not server).

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

I'm using the IIS SMTP to enable the Message Screener. This is all working
well.

However-

My badmail directory is filling up everyday with BAD, BDR, BDP files. My
understanding is that most of these are delivery problem files. Before I
started to use the IIS SMTP server my Internal SMTP server would send these
delivery notifications without any problems. Why won't the IIS SMTP server
deliver these notifications? Why do they stack up in my badmail directory?

Thanks,
