There are two thing that must occur in order for MSNIM to work through ISA: 1. create the proper settings in ISA (http://isatools.org/msnim.vbs does this nicely) 2. use the FW client on each internal host. Even then, IM voice and video don't work unless the external user makes the connection. One way to work around it to have firewall clients installed on every client. One question to you guys. If firewall clients are installed on every user's machine does this give them access to use the MSN messenger services like, file transfer, video and voice? Also can the users behind the firewall initiate the call or can this be only done by the other user they are communicating with? Please advise ASAP Thanks in advance Sachin Vaish Vaioni Group Limited t: 0870 160 0650 f: 0870 160 0651 Please note our new address below: 32 Leslie Hough Way Manchester M6 6AJ -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 17 January 2003 16:27 To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: solution for yahoo and msn messanger http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Hanan- That is the only way right now. Is this the only way to have conversation on msn messenger? Or there is a solution to let users that are behind isa to initiate the call ? And voice Firewall client must be installed Change the settings in yahoo preferences to use firewall with no proxy in client computer Create protocol definitions: 1-yahoo chat TCP port 5050 outbound 2-yahoo voice1 TCP port 5001 outbound 3-yahoo voice2 TCP port 5000 outbound 4-yahoo voice UDP UDP port 5000 receive send 5-yahoo web cam TCP port 5100 outbound Create a protocol rule to allow these protocols definitions Restart the firwall service Restart the computer It will work for both yahoo and msn messenger I hope this will help Best regards Hanan.Mawla (MCSE,MCT,CCNP) ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org/ Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: jim@xxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
