[Ilugc] unsolicited mail -- product sale..

I got unsolicited mail today, about (closed)software sales at a website
called ratedoem.

Just wanted to know if you guys have ever been to the site, whether what the
site does is above-board and legal...

And, interestingly, they say, a product, for example, MS Windows XP 2002 is
271 dollars (shelfprice) and not 40 dollars (their price) only because of
the promised tech-support, the beautiful box package, and the printed
manuals. Could that be true?

It is called OEM software - software that is distributed with something 
else (like when you buy a motherboard, or a new PC etc)

Redistribution of that sort of thing is not always legal - if it was 
microsoft software being advertised in spam, fw it to piracy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
