Hi,
I am currently running Ubuntu 5.04 and using Postfix to send
mail. I have set up Evolution to use Postfix to send mail. I am pretty
new to using a local smtp server to send mail, so pardon me if I don't
know the concepts behind this too well.
I tried sending a mail to my yahoo address from a spoofed gmail
address such as foo@xxxxxxxxx - I was able to see to see and read this
mail fine in yahoo. When I tried sending the same mail to my gmail
address(with the spoofed foo@xxxxxxxxx) it worked fine - though the
mail appeared in my gmail inbox only after a bit of a delay... Isn't
this a problem (that I can spoof pretty much any address when I send a
mail) ??
In the headers shown in yahoo, I see the term domainkeys, what's that?
And in gmail there is a name, value pair as 'Received-SPF: neutral
(gmail.com: 59.92.43.77 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of
foo@xxxxxxxxx)', do these have something to do with verification of
the sender mail address? And why the 'X-Apparently-To' ??
