Hi,
Fedora Core 4 has problem with motherboards with Trident Drivers like
trident cyberbalde etc.
The screen goes blank. To solve this problem install FC4 in text
mode. Then replace
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/libvgahw.a from fc3 or mandriva(mdk). I copied
from mandriva2005 & it works.
Another solution is replace driver "trident:" with "vesa" in
xorg.conf. It will work with generic driver, but multimedia programs
like xine , mplayer will not work properly. This problem is listed in
fc4 bugzilla
