[Ilugc] problem with boot loader

i had ubuntu 6.10 installed along with windows xp and suse. thought

$ sudo grub
it will take it the grub prompt,
find /boot/grub/stage1
gives you locations..(if more than one)
chose the location where grub need to be installed..
then give,
root (hd*,*)
then to install grub,
setup (hd0)
Finall to quit,

Reboot the PC...:-)
then i installed kubuntu. got the boot loader correctly. but it shows my
older suse linux which i removed and has removed the ubuntu6.10 from my
system. i can find the files that i had in ubuntu using kbuntu. has my
ubuntu been removed.
is it not possible to have ubuntu and kubuntu together.
what should i do to get my ubuntu back
It is possible.. I do have like that.. The grub boot loader (am not sure or
the debian installer) which writes to the /boot/grub/menu.lst has some
problems in Ubuntu.
When one have a distro of Ubuntu already and tries to install another in
some other partition it creates more entries in this menu.lst
u can manually edit them and customize..
It is this menu.lst entriy that appears while we boot our PC... Check there
for your installations...
