Sure, there are technical side effects of the system and that has

place. One shouldnt brush off the technical benefits but its only

to take into other beliefs into consideration especially when there

more and more non-technical issues affecting Free software.
This thread is too long to resist participating. I think Rahul has
explained things in the best possible way as you can see above.
We need both technical and ethical. They are two sides of the same
coin. For those who don't care about ethical issues please look at
the piracy rate especially among academics. All those who use illegal
copies are technically staisfied with them. What is wrong in talking
about ethical issues and advocating shifting to FOSS?
In the end I feel each user should see FOSS in his/her own angle -
may be cost, may be technical or may be ethical.
