i think u would have got this problem after reinstalling ur OS keeping ur
/home partition intact. I faced the same problem when I did that. If yes,
just delete all those hidden files from root and also delete the user and
recreate the user with /home/babu as the home directory. This time all those
files will be created again and you wont have any problem. In any case I
think this should work.
