So for ltsp in  
Mandriva 2008.1 the steps are:

1. download and install ltsp-utils
2. run ltspadmin, install all components
3. configure the components with ltspadmin
4. merge the dhcpd.conf.sample into dhcpd.conf
5. enjoy

actual work is about 10 minutes + time taken to download
the files
This is for ltsp version 4.x. This old and no longer maintained.

On ubuntu, debian it is just apt-get install ltsp-server.

From ltsp5 onwards ltsp has changed its design. It now uses the
distributions imaging tools to create the OS. It also uses ssh
for client to server connection. It has local device support.

Unfortunately for Mandriva, nobody has taken up the work. Its very well 
developed in ubuntu, debian and suse. Fedora is fast catching up.

A good project for Mandrake to start.
