problem solved. when I ran ltspadmin, I did not notice that
it does
not create a dhcpd.conf file - it creates a sample file
which has to
be merged into dhcpd.conf. Once that was done, the client
could not
find the vmlinuz file. The file was in the /tftpboot/lts/
directory -
and the dhcpd.conf file had the filename =
"/lts/vmlinuz.whatever".
When I removed the leading '/', everything worked.
So for ltsp inThis is for ltsp version 4.x. This old and no longer maintained.
Mandriva 2008.1 the steps are:
1. download and install ltsp-utils
2. run ltspadmin, install all components
3. configure the components with ltspadmin
4. merge the dhcpd.conf.sample into dhcpd.conf
5. enjoy
actual work is about 10 minutes + time taken to download
the files
