[Ilugc] hostname problem

Hai,

I want to change the hostname in my linux box. i tried out #hostname 
sriram but the name changed 
only for that session. i also tried out another option
If you are using redhat then change it in /etc/sysconfig/network there will 
be a parameter called
HOSTNAME=<yourhostname>

# etc/hostname and #etc/hosts but it didn't work.
please let me know the other files where i need to change the name.
