The discussions get sometimes passionate because people

irrational, I'm sure the community will reprimand him.
Kicking out spammers is one matter, but kicking out people
because they expressed opinions is an entirely different
matter. The whole question of "how much is too much" will
itself cause plenty of useless discussions.
There is no problem with technical discussion and differences on such
issues. But off late we see lot of useless discussions generating heat.
They put off newbies. As a result the LUG suffers a lot.
Compare the response for volunteering we got in 2004 with 2009. Till date
nobody volunteered for several topics. That is a shame on us. One of the
main cause is too much of noise resulting in students running away. I tell
this based on personal experiences while interacting with students.
My request, please confine discussion to technical and organizational
matters only.
