A simple question for the list. Maybe.
What is the most well-known or appropriate Tamil keyboard layout to configure
on a bilingual system? I have the "Tamil Unicode" keyboard working on Ubuntu,
and am told this resembles typing in MSWord with a Tamil font selected; but
hunting around on the web I can't find a graphical representation of this
layout; instead I'm finding Inscript, Remington, Tamil99 and who knows what
else. All I want is a single layout to standardise on, which will be worth the
time spent to learn/teach on it. If USB keyboards with the appropriate Tamil
and English glyphs printed on their keycaps are available, so much the better!
If you could identify the appropriate lyout for me by name, with an image, and
by how to enable it in SCIM (I take it that's the easiest way to get both
Ubuntu desktop and OpenOffice working uniformly) I'd be muchly appreciative.
