[Ilugc] System.map deleted on reboot with a custom kernel

Mandrake 10.1 (Got from Digit). Even with the default kernel it
happens. But if name the file system.map-2.6.11(small s) it is not
deleted.

How? Which distro are you using?

System.map is useful if you do device driver/kernel
programming. Few applications like dosemu, lsof use
it.
