1. Newbies come with different perceptions, and when they get the real
hands-on experience, they realize this is not for them. Fair enough.
Unfortunately, you don't get the time back that you spent with them.
2. Giving a tutorial is not a problem. There are plenty of good
documentation available online, just a click away from a search. The
problem comes when they lack the ability to comprehend, or seldom
follow instructions _strictly_, and you also having to explain the
tutorial to them -- which is really bad, IMO. Forcing people to do
things also doesn't work, but, one can motivate or inspire people to
do things.
