Dear Shakthi,
It is an ethernet interface. I tried both adsl-setup and pppoE. when i run
"adsl-start" after the adsl/pppoe configuration, i am getting an error as
"time out".
Note: Ehternet connection as none in configuration file (ifcfg-eth1) then=>
ifup eth1 up is working fine.
it fails in "ifup eth1 up" if it is dhcp connection .
For a single system's broadband connection , is it require dhcp
connection?
please help me out for the same .

If it has ethernet, then you can use the ethernet port
on your GNU/Linux system to connect with it. Use
roaring penguin client to connect to your ISP.
