Lets have a final check from ourside.
1. Which distro you are using? or list the distros you
tested?
Ubuntu (permanent OS), Debian 4.0, Mandriva, PS LinuxOS, Fedora 9, Suse11.0
(Strange thing under Gnome while my net is blacked out, I cannot run search on
Google while on KDE, Google does show search results but cudn't open pages)
2. Did you test with live CD? Which applications are
connecting and
which are not connecting?
Tested with live CD also. Even on stalled OS, while I cannot browse the net,
other applications like PidGin, Azureus can connect to net and download stuff.
Also while net is blacked out I can open site like Microsoft.com and
download.com (why is this happening) I tested telnet and port 80 is open.
3. Are you able to connect to sites after changing User
Agent string in
firefox?
Yes
4. What is the output of 'ifconfig',
'route', /etc/resolv.conf,
traceroute <unabletoopensite>, ping
<unabletoopensite>, iptables -L
here are details:

5. What nmap says about your gateway('nmap
<yourdefaultgateway>'). is it
all filtered?
It will be useful if you share your answers with ilugc for
the above
questions. If someone have better idea to trace the
culprit, please help
swapnil to figure out.
