Hey
What version of X do you use? If you use anything greater than 4.x,
try:
# XFree86 -configure
# XFree86 -xf86config /root/XF86Config.new
---- If you're not satisfied with the display, edit the file ----
# cp /root/XF86Config.new /etc/X11/XF86Config
If you're using an old version of X (probably 3.3.6 or something like
that), try:
# xf86config

hello--
i am mailing this from India.
i have loaded Dragon Linux V2 full on a computer with AMD K6/200mhz,
128mb RAM, 9GB hard disk.
The monitor uses a SiS 6215 SVGA card. i think this is giving problems
while loading the GUI. The GUI is loaded but the desktop lookss very
bad, and the desktop goes outside the monitor area.the colours are
also not that clear. i think maybe the resolution is the problem, but
fiddling with xf86config or etc/XF86Config is of no use.
could you please tell me how to change the settings so that i can get
the resolution right?
i learnt that SiS 6215 drivers are unavailable and hence selected SiS
SG86C215 in xf86config and chose option no 3 for XF86_SVGA card
drivers, but still no use.
i would be much grateful to get any help re this problem
thanks
venkat
