[Ilugc] Shift +Space != Space

Hi,

I'm using Ubunty Hardy. If I type Shft+[space] in an X session, no
character gets typed, but it gets typed as [space] on  a terminal (the
Ctrl+alt+f1 terminal). It's pretty irritating while touch typing :/
The terminal behavior is the behavior I want. I am sure thats how it
was earlier.

Any help?
