Is sendmail not able to do the above stuffs?
sendmail is not a pop server or an imap server. It is a mail transfer
agent - mta. If you're supposed to be part of a team dveloping a distro
I'd expect you to know at least that much...
For a lovely commandline email client that does this, check "heirloom
mailx" (originally called "nail") -
