Hi,
Could some one give me a hint on what kind of broadband i am using? (I
know it is tata indicom :) )
This is what ipconfig says:
Windows 2000 IP Configuration
PPP adapter ADSL Easy Dial-up:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 210.211.179.17
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 210.211.179.17
How can the ip address and the default gateway be the same?? i really
dont get this, but it works perfectly fine in windows.
When i look into the properties it says ISDN-BIPAC 7000 usb wan adapter.
(ISDN???)
And the phone number is 0000000.. (???)
and the type of dialup server i am calling says PPP win 95,98,NT,2000,
Internet (now i am really confused...)
I am able to get the modem to work some times in linux (i.e. i succeed
in making the adsl light glow..my definition of success..ofcourse that
didnt come easy..thats another big story all together) but i dont know
how to dial to the server. I dont see how is can user rp-pppoe as there
is no ethernet involved.
should i use the kppp or something :S
God help me!!..i am really getting sick of configuring these modems and
broadband connections with linux just to find out that it wont work.
:)
