Dear all,
When I first saw an e-mail from Sundar Raman at 4:30 am little did I
realize that it was going to work out.
But after interacting with him closely for a while I consider myself
highly fortunate and blessed to have known such a well traveled, cool,
socially committed and above all technically focused individual.
It would have been quite hard to conduct my perl training without the
amazing facilities provided by Exteter Premedia Services Pvt. Ltd right
at the heart of Chennai in Teynampet.
I have never seen an Apple computer in my life properly ( Only from a
distance). And Sundar arranged 4 of them for the demo. And the hall had
all facilities including air conditioning.
I would like to emphasize here that Sundar Raman and his company Exeter
are highly committed to providing training facilities free of cost for
any technical topic. I encourage more and people to come forward and
utilize this facility.
It is also interesting that Sundar is a Telecom pro and that he has
tremendous real life experience writing Telecom standards, playing with
GSM, CDMA, UMTS and God only knows what. He knows nearly all of
wireless, mathematics, telephony, mobile communications, VoIP and so
on...
Moreover he is also a brilliant presenter since he has the skill to
delineate any hard concept in a manner that is digestible to any kind of
audience.
If I had known his erudition, experience and teaching skill we could
have benefited from his knowledge much better. Anyway even now it is not
too late.
It will be great indeed if we can arrange a training on telecom by
Sundar before he goes back to USA on April 1.

The location of the company is a great plus since it is close to Anna
Salai and Alwarpet.
I also wish to apologize in public for the mess up that happened on day
I. Perhaps the snaps do not show reality. ;)

So goes the wonderful Tirukkural. So this is what happened on day I. The
snaps do not convey what really happened. Close to 65 people came for
the session but nearly half of them left after the tea break. And I
wholly take the blame for that. I would do the same thing if I went to a
movie that did not interest me.
Overall it was a great learning experience for me.
Day III (yday) was an amazing day. Sundar Raman gave us some really
excellent narrative about CAPTCHAs and how they are subverted.
Overall it was great fun since it was a closely knit group of really
passionate guys interested in learning and having fun.
I am committed to providing world class training in future and here is a
promise.
Henceforth all my presentations will be accompanied by an on the fly
demo. I am sure that is the only way to tackle any technical topic. Mere
theory is useless unless people know how to apply it in the real world.
I shall definitely ensure that every single talk I give in future will
be accompanied by demos interspersed with the talk.
