Aditya posts :
don't think you can get any work done that way. However tell me
that , I can set up a mail server for the entire college in a
jiffy, and that its for free , i'll buy that.
Stressing on the `free beer' aspect of Free Software is downright
suicidal. You will have no one to buy your lame mailserver when M$
enters the fray with a free, latest version of their exchange (mail)
server. This is happening here in Kerala with the IT@School Project.
Trying to impress your professors with shallow sounding cost benefits
is not going to work anymore. Instead tell them that Free Software
helps you learn more by sharing and looking at the code. ;-)
Sharing is important because I learned a lot about the GNU system that
way. Prabhu, the `old' co-ordinator shared a set of Debian GNU CDs
and helped me.
