I am in Chennai until April 16th. I would be happy to meet
with the group sometime. My areas of knowledge are:
- Genetics, Cell biology, Computational Biology
- Ethics
- Linux clusters
- some firewalls and data security
- Scientific computing and programming
- VPN - Virtual Private Networks (Freeswan and CiSCO)
- Web based education
- Robotics (mostly nervous networks, due to my biology
background and dynamic adaptability. This will be very
interesting when combined with a CPU for path planning).
I have been working for Cray Research/SGI/Cray Inc for 13 years
(since 1991). I have setup clusters for Princeton University
in 1998, and setup firewalls and did training there in 2000, after
all the other systems (besides our cluster) got compromized.
I have setup clusters from 4 CPUs to 512CPUs. Also I hav ebeen
a strong advocate internally to Cray to convert to Linux. Our
entire product line is now going to be Linux, and much of our
infrastructure has changed to linux. (including Samba server,
some file servers, and most of the compute enviroment). We have
also changed many of our desktop and home systems to linux.
I don't see a meeting before April 16th, but if there is let me know.
TATA would take 2 weeks to setup a cable connection so I am on a
Reliance phone for internet access for now.
- I am also interested in Music composition
and graphics/animations. Both for entertainment and
for education.
