But isn't ilug-chennai a notably significant entity that deserves to
be on Wikipedia? I am not talking about advertising but as
encyclopedic content on how Foss evolved in India.
point is that wikipedia is *not* an encyclopedia - everything
mentioned in wikipedia *has* to be referenced from original source
material. So you can only talk about ILUGC in wikipedia if you can
present external references to ILUGC - as far as I know, there are
none apart from the ILUGC website. So let us work to make ILUGC
famous, and then it will naturally come into wikipedia

there, BLUG Banglore is on there, Shouldn't ILUGC be there too? I did
go through the policies and felt ILUGC should go in there.
just because other people break the policies of wikipedia, it does
not mean that we should do so. As for the BLUG page, it is a disgrace
as it has been put there to further the interests of one individual
(also the foss.in page and the atul chitnis page). Please go through
the discussions on these pages - older discussions as everyone has
got fed up with discussing them and no longer does so. You will note
that all the references in these three articles are to the website or
to press statements given by the organisations involved.
paragraph in the foss in India page
Which page, could you please pass on the URL.?
put it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_India ;<------- but
even this does not have proper references.
