Ubuntu for android is different from Ubuntu phone OS.
Ubuntu for android runs atop Android (mostly it should be user space Ubuntu
with Android kernel or some integration between Android components and
Ubuntu). Ubuntu phone OS is a separate one and it has to be installed
removing the OS present in the phone (I am not sure about dual booting).
Ubuntu phone OS will be launched 21st Feb and not Ubuntu for Android.
If you install Ubuntu OS by removing Android most probably you will void
warranty (as most manufacturers void warranty upon rooting Android). Also
the Ubuntu OS is going to come for specific devices - your device may or
may not be supported (depending on the brand, phone model release date,
device capabilities and depending on other non-technical reasons).
No specific date for Ubuntu for Android is mentioned yet.

experience - it will help others a lot :).
