I thought I'll go one step further and stop quoting earlier messages
at all as those interested can browse msg by msg (Gmail makes it so
much easier). For others, as Sriram Karra points out "the list is
archived anyway".
No, that just makes it even worse.
Not everyone has GMail and not everyone can refer to old mails just to follow a
discussion.
Imagine a thread with more than 100 posts.Do you want a person to refer to 100
mails just to find out who has posted what, on a particular topic.
As for archival, the above mentioned point holds good.
Do you want to do a google search just to find out what the other person has
said in an earlier mail.
Perhaps we should make this a part of this lists ettiquette!!
There is no specific "ilugc list-ettiquette", we just follow rules that have
been laid down to make e-mail easier to read.
