It is not only that everybody does not have Gmail, but many pepole have mail
clients wich follow the threaded architecture (I don't). For them, it will
be a real irrritant.
And you are asking this functionality to be provided in a mail client, that
people having Gmail need not bother, so on so forth, but fellow listers
point out about top posting, but that small step to be avoided is so
difficult for you !

If you take your zealot's blinkers off you'll notice I've stopped
topposting after there were quite a few mails riling against it. To be
precise, from may 9 onwards.
Please go through ILUGC guidelines fully and then come back here.
Thanks for the advice. After doing a Google search for ILUGC
guidelines, I eventually went to the guidelines page and did notice
the advice against top posting. Incidentally, there was also a
guideline which said 'dont over-quote'. So one really has to read 100
mails (OK with a reasonable amount of quoting say 50 mails) to
understand what the thread is about (and not heed Toufeeq's advice
that all 100 mails get quoted...... lest you get riled by someone else
for 'over-quoting'!)
I was hoping an interesting discussion would ensue when I suggested
that other mail clients also emulate GMail's features and raised a
tech question whether Google's search might is behind the mail threads
feature (I dont know! I have not tested its features). But
unfortunately, clouded minds seem to only latch on to questions of
etiquette (or 'perceived' lack of it at least after may 9) and miss
the larger questions raised!
If those souls wounded by my previous topposting will not heal until I
apologize: SORRY. Pls get on with life.
